Being Involved

Being involved as a parent or caregiver, in all aspects of your child's life is very important for their education. Tintinara Area School actively supports and encourages parent/caregiver participation. As a parent/caregiver you are very welcome to become involved in what happens in the school. The staff can talk with you about the ways in which parents and staff work together. Parents/caregivers may participate in the education of their child in the school in many ways: helping with learning activities in classrooms or in the BOOST program, working bees, volunteering transport, officiating at Sports or Swimming Carnivals, fundraising or taking a role in school governance through Governing Council and its Committees to ensure a learning community.

There are a number of ways to be involved:

Child Parent Centre
BOOST
Governing Council
Committees
Tintinara/Coonalpyn Community Library Board

Child Parent Centre

  • Parent support in the CPC is most welcome. Activities may include cutting fruit, supervising small groups of children or helping to clean up. Staff may identify various activities where your assistance would be of value, and arrange a mutually convenient time for you to participate.
  • A voluntary committee of parents are consulted about initiatives and programs within the Child Parent Centre. This Committee has a representative on Governing Council.
    Junior and Middle School
  • The teachers of the Junior School welcome volunteer help in their classrooms, whether it be listening to children read or assisting the teacher with activities. Discuss with the class teacher how you can assist.
  • Junior and Middle School parents/caregivers help in many ways: with sports coaching, transport to sports events or help with Presentation Night costumes and props. Please discuss with your child’s Home Group teacher how you may be involved.
